Ok, here we go. I've been shopping around like crazy. Hitting Amazon, Fry's, Best Buy and other electronic stores in the search for the best Blu Ray concerts. Of course, these are going to differ based on musical taste but I had to share what I consider to the best concerts on the market.

There isn't a huge selection particularly when it comes to hip-hop. All I was able to find was Eminem, and that was a huge waste of my money. It's cheesy, crappy and isn't worth it's weight in plastic. I also didn't add Michael Jackson's "This is it" Blu Ray. I just finished watching it and I wouldn't recommend picking it up.

I also recommend that whenever you are watching Blu Ray concerts that you do so in surround sound. If you're not, it really is like eating a hamburger without the meat. Not only should these concerts be viewed in stunning high definition, they should also be complimented with crisp, clear sound. 5.1 should be taken advantage of. Hope you agree.

PS3 Drops in Price - Pick Up Your New Blu Ray Player

So they finally did it. For those looking on the sidelines waiting for the PS3 to drop in price, the time has come. For $299, you can get your sweaty palms on a HD gaming machine and a Blu Ray player.

Even though there are more Blu Ray players that are more advanced than the one that comes with the PS3, it's still a solid one. Buyers will be pleased with the price reduction hits on Sept. 1st.

Though it might be too late in the overall grand scheme of things, Sony caved in and gave gamers a reasonable price in these tough economic times. I mean, launching a new game console for $499 was ridiculous. Only the hardcore fanatics were the ones that bought it the first few weeks it was out.

This new low price should do two things.

#1 - Extend Blu Ray penetration into the U.S. market. That's good for everyone.

#2 - Extend PS3 penetration into the U.S. market which might be a little too late as the Xbox 360 and the Wii have a stranglehold in the U.S.

I think Sony should concentrate on its game network when people are playing games online. Currently, they're getting dealt with from Microsoft.

Great action ride with "Taken" on Blu-ray!

Going back to the basics when movies deliver great fighting scenes, Taken does a great job keeping you interested enough on a solid story line and a great acting job from Liam Neeson (Batman Begins).

With plenty of action scenes, Taken is a great all around flick for all action movie fans that would surely not disappoint. Outstanding picture quality and ear shattering Dts-hd master audio 5.1 surround sound makes taken a great stay at home movie. Also included in the blu-ray the 91 minute theatrical and the 93 minute unrated versions of the film, and plenty of audio commentary from director Pierre Morel that are only available in the unrated version, also black ops field manual only available in the unrated version, which gives the advantage to follow the film with a body tracker with (blu-ray profile 1.1) in a picture in picture pop up window, also extra content from the writer and a trivia game and lots of other goodies. Overall, Taken is a great movie that should not be missed and should be added to any blu- ray action fan enthusiast.

Role Models on Blu Ray definitely a must buy! Danny (Paul Rudd) and Wheeler (Seann William Scott) are hilarious and work great together in Role Models. After crashing the business car Danny and Wheeler are court ordered to choose between community service or jail.

Choosing community service they are matched with two kids, Ronnie(Bobb'e J. Thompson) and Augie (Christopher Mintz-Plasse ).

Nothing great on the Blu Ray disc special features but good laughs nonetheless.

The masses await Twilight on Blu Ray. The film and books that have taken US by Storm. Twilight on Blu Ray is a great story that comes to live on a Blu Ray. For those that have yet to hear about Twilight, it's a vampire story that has came to life from a series of books written by Stephanie Meyer.

Twilight on Blu Ray is a solid suspenseful thriller that does the book justice. Some argue that the film transition could've been darker but we disagree. On a large LCD or plasma TV, it might have trouble picking up the darker scenes but overall the film looks great.

Must pick up for fans of the book and a rental for those that are not.

This is the true story of Ernie Davis, the first African American to ever win the Heisman trophy. It tells the story of a boy that came from nothing to have all of the fame in the world from his unbelievable football talent to have all his dreams hit reality. I thought that this movie was very good for not having a popular cast that we have seen in past football movies. Most of the movie is about his young college football career and how he comes to be a contender for the Heisman trophy. It also tells the struggles he goes through, and the obstacles he has to face base on the color of his skin.Overall a definitely eye opener, with plenty of extra content and perfect 1080p video and DTS-HD master audio sound that would have you cheering for Davis through the whole movie. Inspirational film that should not be missed and would be a great addition to any football fan blu ray collection.

Max Payne dissapoints on Blu Ray

Many have tried to make movies based on video games and only a few have succeeded, but this movie wasn't one of the lucky ones. From beginning to end this flick was just horrible in every way and even if you were a fan of the video game it was just brutal to watch how awful this movie was directed. The interpretation of the game in this movie was painful to watch from a fans point of view. Awful acting job on many parts, plain action scenes that were mostly shown on the trailer. Plain and simply a horrible movie that a lot of us regret paying for and watching in the theaters. Included in the unrated edition of the movie, commentary from the director John Moore,also a Michelle Payne graphic novel which is basically animated stills that last for 13 minutes,both theatrical and unrated version of the film,also bonus pip- behind the scenes, walk through and cheats and that's it for the extra content. You can also expect 1080p picture quality that helps somewhat, and DTS-5.1 master audio and a digital copy of the film that seems to be a standard feature on most blu rays now of days.

My best friends girl its one of the best comedies of 2008. Dane Cook supported by a great cast due the job just fine. I think what really makes this movie work its the great cast behind the lead actor along with great writing and also the way the full cast deliver the jokes, which are very funny by the way. This movie its definitely an adult film with some what of a romantic twist,so send the kids to bed and sit back and get ready to enjoy this hilarious movie. Excellent 1080p video quality delivered in 1.78:1 aspect ratio and spectacular 7.1 Dts-HD surround sound. Al Pacino and Robert De Niro have done great movies in the past, and who can forget such classics such as Heat. But in this movie they team up to bring this mediocre movie that does not meet any of our expectations that we all have grown accustomed to from these two great actors . This movie comes up short in many ways, like a bad back up cast to a d- story line,and to top it of 50 cent the rapper is in this movie for crying out loud. This movie starring two of the great actors of our time and i hate to say it should be skipped if possible.As far as the blu ray, it looks great in jaw dropping 1080p and sounds really good in 5.1 surround sound, nothing much to look forward in the extra content.

The Dallas News has released a story on strong holiday Blu Ray sales. What does this mean for all for the Blu Ray enthusiast. That means that the Blu Ray high definition format has begun to pick up steam. I cannot begin to stress how much Blu Ray was riding on this holiday season to make an impact and improve market share. The more sales of Blu Ray products bodes well for us.

It means this format has LIFE and doesn't seem to be going where for a long time. I'v been tired of hearing all the bad press about Blu Ray and that it's likely to be short lived. The article goes on to say that Blu Ray players are the preferred gift of all HD TV owners.

USA Today released a great article today on the benefits of Blu Ray discs. It gives some pretty solid answers from an unbiased source. If most of you have seen recent articles, you've noticed some nasty bickering on the subject if whether Blu Ray is worth it. We've heard everything from, HD downloads are better or that DVD looks just as good...

The article goes on to lists answers to some of the most common questions consumers have.

What do I need to watch Blu Ray?

Shawshank hits Blu Ray

There are movies that come along once in a while, a very long while that are really special. Shawshank Redemption is one of those movies. IF you can get over the fact that TBS has shown this movie more often then those recent FrankTV commercials, you'd be very wise to pick this one up.

Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins play the roles of their lives as they play best friends in Shawshank prison. You're not going to buy this movie for the special effects, resolution or because it's plays in 1080p. The reason you're going to pick this up is because of the story. I don't see you buying a better Blu Ray this season in terms of story.

Ok, Ok, Ok. So you're buying someone a Blu Ray player for Christmas and you don't know which Blu Rays to pick up in addition to the Blu Ray. Our own Blu Ray Junkie has come up with the top five must buy Blu Rays to get for Christmas.

#5-Transformers- this action pack flick is filled with every little boy's fantasies, robots that turn into cars, and Megan Fox of course. Apart from breath taking special effects and up to minute cgi, you cant ask for a more non-stop action filled bd flick.

#4-Casino Royale- Apart from a great story line, and an awesome cast , this has to be be one of the best bonds ever. Outstanding 1080p picture quality and a crisp 5.1 surround sound, this bond do will do far from dissapoint.

#3-Cars- One of the first bd discs that i saw that made me say "WOW", for the breathtaking picture quality, the one that put my tv to the test for sure, and also one of my kids favorite movies to watch on movie night,this is by far the best looking bd disc out there in the kids genre!

#2-Iron Man- If you saw this movie in the theathers and loved it, just wait untill you get it home and put it in your bd player. You will surely be the first to pat yourself in the back for a great (home theather) investment. This movie is in that category that you just cant leave out of your list.

1-The Dark Knight-this movie has already grossed over 530,280,200 dollars and was just released this year. the best of the series with out a doubt, no disrespect to the original but from head to bottom this movie is the one that if your

Step Brothers: High Definition Comedy

Step Brothers is one of the movies that is simply hilarious. Will Ferrell and one of my favorite actors John C. Reilly drop hundreds of f- bombs in this funny Blu Ray flick. Some of the scenes are plain outrageous.

Step Brothers is a solid pick up to anyones Blu Ray collection. I'd recommend it for those looking for a good comedy. This is a flick that's adults only, so don't watch this with the kids around. If friends are around though, pop it in the Blu Ray player and get ready for laughs.

Step Brothers will likely be compared to Talladega Nights as it should but this movie has a great deal of much more profanity laced humor than Talladega Nights. What this film does is succeed by allowing Will and John to dish out a bunch of f-bombs because of the R Rating.

This film isn't likely to go on sale any time soon, but still would still be worth the funds if you have' em.

PS3 vs Sony's $299 Blu Ray Player

Now that several retailers have dropped the price of the Sony BDP-S350, consumers will have a decision to make when buying a Blu Ray player. Do you opt to be a PS3 that allows you to play cutting edge games or go with the stand alone Blu Ray Player?

Blu Ray stand alone players and the PS3 should continue to drop in price. The question before you upgrade to Blu Ray player is, which one to go with.

I think one question that needs to be answered is, if you're a video game player. If you are, then maybe the PS3 is your best bet. Do know that you will subject your PS3 to much more wear and tear if you take this option.
One benefit of buying a PS3 instead of the Sony Blu Ray player would be that you would save room in your entertainment center. If you're anything like me you already, you have more than a few components with who knows how many cables intertwined back there. Have you taken a peek behind your entertainment center?

The PS3 allows you to watch Blu Ray discs but also enables you to play high definition gaming as well as watching DVDs. It's also a space saver if you choose just to have this alone.

The PS3 will also eventually be developed into a high definition video streaming device. Sony does seem to be dragging it's feet here.

Moving on the the Sony Blu Ray player, which can be found for about $299 at your local electronics store or found online is a solid piece of Blu Ray hardware. Sony does hope to keep this model on the shelves for some time.

This Sony Blu Ray player does make sense if you're really not a video game player and want a stand alone Blu Ray player. Although, it doesn't come with an HDMI cable; it does have all the basics an Blu Ray player should have.

That includes component output/input, hdmi and optical sound. Note that this is also what is on a PS3.

One thing to note on the Sony Blu Ray player BDP-S350 is the load up time. It's been found that this model has a significantly higher load up time than the PS3 in comparisons.

In the end, it really depends what you're looking for whether it's a game machine or simply a high definition Blu Ray player. The PS3 also has a "coolness" factor that is hard to beat.

Hopefully you don't buy both. We do recommend if you purchase either that you do pick up the extended warranty wherever it's bought.

Wanted on Blu Ray - Arriving Dec. 2nd

Wanted comes out on December 2nd. Can you ask for anything more than Angelina Jolie in high definition? The movie wasn't much in the theaters but you can expect that it should at least worth a rental when it's released.

We'll post the review once it's released. Until then, here's the trailer. Dam, Jolie is hot.
